Mapping the Indian Monsoon

The Differentiated Instructional strategy of ‘Choice Boards’ was used in Class XI to Map the Progression of Monsoons in India. Divided into groups,  students selected one of four options to share their understanding of the topic. These included – making a PowerPoint presentation to capture important aspects of the phenomena, an Interactive Board depicting the process of the onset of the monsoons, a Mapping of the  Geographical Distribution of the Monsoon and finally, Designing Factsheets to assess learning. Learning using this DI strategy helped students develop a deeper understanding and also enhanced their research and presentation skills.
