Stoichiometry

Students of Class XI learnt the concept of limiting reagent through Differentiated Instruction. Three learning centres were set up: in the first students had to prepare molecular models, in the second they conducted experiments and in the third they solved worksheet problems. All students went through each of the stations.

CENTRE 1
Students had to prepare molecular models with the help of the given material. The leftover resources represented the excess reagent and consumed bit represented the limiting reagent.

CENTRE 2
Students carried out experiments to observe the reactions between fixed amount of vinegar and varied amounts of baking soda.

CENTRE 3
Students solved worksheets to determine the extent of limiting and excess reagents.
