States of Matter

A ‘Tiered Activity’ was used to differentiate the topic of ‘States of Matter’ for the students of Class V. Students were divided into groups based on their interest and learning styles. While one group attempted a comprehension passage, another conceptualised a poster to share key characteristics of the topic and the third group observed experiment and wrote their conclusion.

Students attempted questions based on the fact sheets on properties of solids, liquids and gases.

Students made a mind map and listed the main properties of solids, liquids and gases.

Students observed experiments, made logical deductions and answered questions on the same.
