The Struggle for Freedom

Collaborative Learning strategy was used to reinforce students’ understanding of the sequence of events that took place during our freedom struggle. The students learned about various freedom movements including the Swadeshi, Non–Cooperation, Civil Disobedience and Quit India Movements. They learned to put events into chronological order in the form of a timeline that enabled them to identify, understand and appreciate causal events, effects of major events, and progression and evolution of different events.

The students were divided into small groups to discuss different events after which, they arranged these into the chronological order in which they occurred. After the completion of their task, each group presented their timeline and shared details about their event with their peers.
